ITT Selected for US Army EAGLE Program
03.10.2012 North America
The U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Rock Island, Ill, has selected ITT Exelis as one of the prime contractors for the five-year, $23.5 billion Enhanced Army Global Logistics Enterprise (EAGLE) program.
The selection gives Exelis the opportunity to submit proposals on multiple task order requests in support of the Army’s future logistics requirements. The Army is expected to begin issuing task order requests against this new contract as early as mid-Oct. Organizations awarded eligibility to compete for the task orders will function under basic ordering agreements.
EAGLE will soon replace the Army’s Field and Installations Readiness Support Team (FIRST) contract. Exelis is uniquely positioned to participate in the EAGLE program due to its extensive experience and performance in the FIRST program.
“We are very pleased to be selected for this important Army sustainment program. Our longstanding participation in the FIRST program has prepared us well for EAGLE, and we are looking forward to continuing to provide support to important programs like the Army Prepositioned Stocks and other sustainment contracts across the Army’s logistics enterprise,” said Ken Hunzeker, President of the Mission Systems division of ITT Exelis.
