Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad celebrated the Iran National Army Day during grand ceremonies held in southern Tehran close to the mausoleum of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini on Tuesday.

A number of ranking Iranian Military Commanders both from the Armed Forced Headquarters and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) attended the ceremony.

Army's Ground, Air and Naval Forces displayed their military might, reassuring the nation that they are ready as ever before to defend Iran's territorial integrity.

Ahmadinejad addressed the ceremony before units of the Iranian Army staged massive parades to display their defensive capabilities and military preparedness.

Ahmadinejad referred to the Iranian nation’s movement towards success to reach the peaks of science and technology.

He noted that gaining achievements needs sustainable security that will be ensured by the brave and trained army forces.

Stressing that though the Iranians have always been among the world's most peaceful nations, he underscored that enemies will receive a strong response for any kind of aggressions they might think of that would put them to endless shame.

He also reiterated that the Iranian Army is fully ready to safeguard Iran's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Noting that the Persian Gulf region is a highly sensitive one, he said the security of the region would be materialized only through collective efforts of regional countries, adding that the presence of foreign forces in the region will only result in insecurity and differences.

Foreign military attachés residing in Iran participated at the ceremony. The attachés are from various world countries including Azerbaijan, Indonesia, China, Turkey and Brazil. 3
