Jordan is scheduled to participate in the 2022 Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX), slated for March 21 under the theme “Connecting the World’s Maritime Defense and Security Community”.
DIMDEX is held under the patronage of Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and is organized by the Qatar Armed Forces. The 7th edition of DIMDEX will take place from the 21st to 23rd of March 2022 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).
A flagship event for the international maritime defense and security, DIMDEX will return under the theme ‘Connecting the World’s Maritime Defense and Security Community’, bringing together key decision makers from around the globe to engage in three days of commercial exchange, maritime showcases and expert panel discussions that contribute to the global maritime defense and security complex.
The organizing committee of the 3-day event, held once every two years with Arab and international participants, announced in a statement on Monday that electronic registration for participation is now open.
The exhibition received positive feedback from local and global companies, it said, noting that 90 percent of the total display area was booked and 14 international pavilions have confirmed their attendance, including Jordan, Italy, France, Germany, Turkey, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Pakistan, Iran, India, China and Croatia.
Qatari companies are expected to present their latest products to boost partnerships with leading companies in the defense industry, the statement added.
DIMDEX will feature other displays including the Visiting Warship Display at Hamad Port and the Middle East Naval Commanders Conference (MENC), which “invites key decision makers, thought-leaders and academics to engage in panel discussion on the latest trends related to maritime defense and security,” it indicated.
It will also highlight modern technologies in the fields of cyber security, artificial intelligence and anti-piracy systems.
Earlier, the organizing committee has announced the return of Fincantieri, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups, as Diamond Sponsor for DIMDEX 2022. MBDA, the world’s leading developer of missile systems, is also confirmed as Gold Sponsor for the seventh time.
