Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, UAE Minister of State for Defence Affairs, met Thursday with Prabowo Subianto, Indonesian Minister of Defence, and General Andika Perkasa, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army.
During the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of Al Bowardi’s visit to Indo Defence Expo & Forum 2022 in Jakarta, the top brass reviewed the UAE-Indonesia cooperation relations and ways of enhancing them across various defence domains.
They also exchanged views on a number of regional and global issues of mutual concern, UAE national news agency WAM reported.
Earlier, President of Indonesia Joko Widodo was briefed by the UAE Minister of State for Defence Affairs on the defence technologies displayed by the UAE pavilion at the Indo Defence Expo & Forum which concluded in Jakarta, Indonesia Sunday.
Al Bowardi accompanied the Indonesian President on a tour of the Emirati pavilion, which showcased AI-based defence and security equipment manufactured by the UAE companies participating in the exhibition. Widodo lauded the Emirati advanced defence technologies exhibited at the event.
Al Bowardi and his delegation then toured the pavilions of other participating countries and companies. He also toured the pavilions of Emirati companies and learnt about the latest technologies they are displaying, as well as the platforms of Indonesian defence and security companies.
