Saudi Arabia’s Chief of the General Staff Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili visited the Republic of Türkiye Tuesday in response to an invitation from his Turkish counterpart, General Metin Gurak.
At the beginning of his visit, Al-Ruwaili held a meeting with Gurak to discuss relations and explore ways to enhance and develop defence and military cooperation, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Al-Ruwaili also met with Türkiye’s Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler (photo), where they discussed strategic relations between the two countries and opportunities to strengthen cooperation in the defence and military fields.
Furthermore, the Saudi Chief of the General Staff visited the Turkish Special Forces Command and met with Commander of Turkish Special Forces Major General Omer Ertugrul Erbakan. Al-Ruwaili was briefed on the Forces’ supplies and equipment during the visit.
Al-Ruwaili also met with President of the Defence Industry Agency (SSB) Prof. Haluk Görgün, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in military industries and develop scientific research. During the meeting, Al-Ruwaili was briefed on companies specialized in the defence and military fields in Türkiye.
