Iran’s Navy unveiled its first locally manufactured intelligence destroyer, ‘Zagros,’ boasting advanced combat and reconnaissance capabilities.
Developed entirely by Iranian engineers and experts, the Zagros destroyer is equipped to fulfill both combat and intelligence missions, enhancing the Navy’s ability to safeguard maritime security, Fars News Agency (FNA) reported.
The Commander of the Iranian Navy praised the technical capabilities of the Zagros warship and emphasized that this intelligence and signal ship will serve as the vigilant eye of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Navy in the depths of seas and oceans.
Admiral Shahram Irani made these remarks on Wednesday during the ceremony for the induction of the Zagros intelligence and signal ship into the Iranian Navy at the port of Bandar Abbas in the Persian Gulf, stating that the Zagros is a highly valuable asset for Iran’s Armed Forces.
The Navy Commander acknowledged the efforts of Iranian engineers and specialists in constructing the Zagros and emphasized that the latest advancements in the fields of electromagnetics, electronics, and cyber technologies have been utilized at subsurface, surface, and aerial levels in the ship’s construction.
Admiral Irani noted that all equipment on the Zagros is domestically produced and made by the dedicated youth of Iran.
