The Board of Directors of Saudi Arabian Military Industries Company (SAMI), chaired by HRH Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, has appointed Eng. Thamer AlMuhid as the new Chief Executive Officer of SAMI, effective from February 1st, 2025 AD.
With over 30 years of global leadership experience, Eng. AlMuhid has a proven track record of driving transformation, operational excellence, and expansion across various sectors.
His expertise in strategic initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, research and development and fostering international partnerships, further highlights his ability to lead organizations toward success and sustained growth. Previously, he served as Group CEO and Managing Director at Saudi Chemical Company Holding, and held senior leadership roles at SABIC, Almarai, and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
In his role as CEO, Eng. AlMuhid will lead SAMI’s mission to develop cutting-edge technologies, manufacture world-class products, and forge strategic partnerships. Under his leadership, SAMI will continue to focus on delivering its commitment to localizing 50% of the Kingdoms defense spending, developing national talent, and achieving its goals.
SAMI is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF). Launched in May 2017 and working under the directives outlined in the Saudi Vision 2030. Aiming to be among the top 25 defense companies in the world by 2030, SAMI is expected to play a key role in localizing 50% of Saudi Arabia’s total government defense spending.
