President of the Turkish Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir explained the 2022 goals of the Turkish Defense Industry at a press conference held earlier this year in the new Technology Campus of HAVELSAN.

Following the press conference, the KARASİM Contract was signed between Presidency of Defense Industries and HAVELSAN.

Stating that HAVELSAN is one of the leading institutions of our country in simulation studies in the military and civil fields, Demir said: “Today, we are at HAVELSAN, we are pleased to sign the contract for a simulation project that will meet an important need for our Land Forces.”

The KARASİM Contract marks a project that includes 15 simulator system packages and will provide the Turkish Land Forces personnel with the opportunity to receive training on marksmanship, shooting, tactical applications and skiing.

President Demir underlined the importance of the project stating: “Our project will enable more military personnel to be trained at the same time and increase the efficiency of the trainings, by using time and resources effectively without requiring real ammunition, materials, weapons, and tools.”

At the end of the program, Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir performed a flight over İstanbul with the Airbus A-320 Full Flight Simulator developed by HAVELSAN and received a flight certificate. President Demir stated that he was proud of HAVELSAN’s work.

“HAVELSAN, a national company that has proven itself in the field of software, has recently proven how successful it is in platform development. We see this with their successful work in unmanned aerial and land vehicles,” he said.
