SAMINavantia, a joint venture between SAMI, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Saudi Arabia’s national champion of defense industries, and Navantia S.A., is participating in the International Defense and Security Exhibition (FEINDEF 2023) in Madrid.
The three-day exhibition is taking place from May 17 to 19 in the Spanish capital and provides an excellent platform for SAMINavantia to showcase HAZEM, the Saudi Combat Management System (CMS). The participation of SAMINavantia is an important step that shows the growth of the company and its importance in the market.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by a delegation from the Saudi Ministry of Defense, led by the Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs, Dr. Khaled bin Hussein Al-Bayari.
A group of Senior Executives from SAMI and SAMINavntia were in attendance, including SAMI CEO Eng. Walid A. Abukhaled, SAMI Chief Communication and Support Services Officer Wael M. Al-Sarhan, SAMI Sea Executive Vice President Esteban Villasanchez, and SAMINavantia’s CEO Sofia Honrubia.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, Assistant Minister of Defense Al-Bayari met with the engineers of the third batch of SAMINavantia’s program for naval industries. The program specializes in the on-the-job training for the HAZEM naval combat management system (CMS). Attending SAMI officials included Abukhaled and Al-Sarhan.
Al-Bayari praised the value of this pioneering program, which contributes to the development of local human resources in Saudi Arabia and supports the development of an integrated system of the defense industries. Additionally, he referred to the role of these local resources in transferring technology and knowledge and enhancing the sustainability of military industries in the country.
