Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), along with partners Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) and the World Defense Show (WDS)), are participating in the Paris Air Show 2023 taking place from 19-25 June.
GAMI is showcasing the accelerated steps the military industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has taken to develop and localize the sector, and create opportunities to invest in it, as well as the sector’s capabilities, which help it meet the operational needs of the military apparatus, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
GAMI Governor Eng. Ahmad Abdulaziz Al-Ohali said the Authority’s participation in the Paris Air Show is an extension of its efforts to enable the sector to achieve the objectives set for it by the Saudi Vision 2030 through creating important partnerships and networking with international investors interested in investing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, thus working to achieve localization, exchange knowledge and expertise, and transfer technology.
Al-Ohali noted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia attaches great importance to the military industries, following the directives of the wise leadership to localize various industries in the Kingdom that could thus contribute to enriching the national economy and boosting its strategic independence.
He added that GAMI officials will meet several representatives of international defense companies on the sidelines of the show to discuss localization projects, promote investment opportunities in the Kingdom’s military industries, lend support to international companies and facilitate their entry into the military industries market in partnership with the Saudi private sector.
The governor said that a meeting will be held with the Director General of the Directorate General of Armament (DGA) in France, which is GAMI’s peer agency, to discuss cooperation between the two countries.
