His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, met Tuesday with the Secretary of State for Defence of the United Kingdom (UK), The Rt Hon Ben Wallace MP.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s official visit to the UK, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad highlighted that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, firmly supports strong British-Bahraini ties.
His Royal Highness noted the strength of Bahrain’s relationship with the UK, which continues to witness wide-ranging growth in the military and defence sector.
His Royal Highness affirmed Bahrain’s steadfast commitment to strengthening collaboration towards shared goals that benefit both countries and their peoples.
His Royal Highness highlighted the UK’s role, alongside allied countries, in promoting and safeguarding international security and stability.
During the meeting, regional and global developments and shared concerns were also discussed.
Furthermore, His Royal Highness met with His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales, at Windsor Castle.
His Royal Highness highlighted the strength of British-Bahraini ties, which span over 200 years and will continue to deepen, in line with the aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
His Royal Highness conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK) and Head of the Commonwealth, and to His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales. HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa also wished continued success and prosperity for the UK and its citizens.
His Royal Highness noted the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation across various fields to reach shared aspirations.
Regional and international issues of common interest were discussed. Bahrain’s Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, also attended the meeting.
Lastly, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, met with the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, The Rt Hon James Cleverly MP.
His Royal Highness emphasised the importance of continuing to bolster joint cooperation to create quality opportunities that benefit both countries and their peoples.
