Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs HE Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah met Tuesday with UK Secretary of State for Defence Grant Shapps at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defence in the British capital of London.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed topics of mutual interest and ways to enhance them, the Ministry said in a statement.
They also reviewed the latest updates in the region, especially the Israeli war on Gaza, the role of Qatar in mediation efforts to achieve ceasefire and stop the war in Gaza.
The meeting was attended by Qatar Emiri Air Forces Commander HE Major-General (Pilot) Jasim bin Mohammed Al Mannai, Qatari Military Attaché to the United Kingdom Brigadier Mohammed Ali Al Fadhala and a number of senior of officials of both sides.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs also met with Shadow Secretary of State for Defence of the United Kingdom John Healey.
The meeting discussed topics of mutual interest and military cooperation between the two sides and ways to strengthen them.
The region’s latest developments were also discussed, particularly the Israeli war on Gaza.
The meeting was attended by a number of senior officials from both sides.
