The Emirates Defence Companies Council (EDCC) has announced the UAE National Pavilion participation at SAHA Expo 2024, a leading defence and aerospace exhibition. The fourth edition of the exhibition will run from 22-26 October.
SAHA Expo is held biennially in Istanbul, Türkiye, and stands as the largest global gathering for the defence, aviation, and aerospace sectors in Türkiye and Europe. With the participation of more than 124 countries and over 150,000 visitors, the exhibition highlights its international significance and the importance of its accompanying events.
The fourth edition of the exhibition features participation from over 1,200 exhibitors, including local and international companies, along with more than 400 official delegates. Additionally, approximately 20,000 meetings are scheduled to take place.
The UAE National Pavilion, organised by the EDCC, spans 656 square metres through the Emirates Defence Companies Council. This highlights the importance of the exhibition and the associated activities at the international level, where the UAE made a notable presence in the previous edition through a high-level Emirati delegation.
The participation aims to enhance the capabilities of national defence industries and embodies the ongoing support from the Ministry of Defence and the Tawazun Council within strategies aimed at establishing the UAE’s position globally in the defence industry and promoting advanced defence products, UAE national news agency reported.
A group of leading national defence companies is set to participate in the exhibition, held this year under the theme “Touch the Game-Changing Technologies”. They include Halcon, Adasi, Al Tariq, Abu Dhabi Ship Building, Advanced Concepts, Katim, LDS, LLA, Malath, and Oryxlabs (all part of EDGE Group), along with Darwish Bin Ahmed & Sons and the media partner Al Jundi Magazine, published by the UAE Ministry of Defence.
Over five days, they will present their advanced services and over 50 products and solutions marked with the “Made in the UAE” label, featuring aerial, land, and unmanned systems, precision-guided munitions, secure communication solutions, and multi-purpose vehicles.
Muammar Abdulla Abushehab, CEO of Tawazun Council, said: “Tawazun Council, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, remains committed to supporting the Emirates Defence Companies Council by providing essential resources to enhance the country’s stature and showcase its defence manufacturing capabilities, which are on par with global standards.”
He further highlighted that this achievement stems from years of strategic planning under the visionary leadership of the UAE.
Mona Ahmed Al Jaber, Chairwoman of the EDCC, said: “The Council’s participation in Saha Expo 2024 exemplifies the UAE’s strong presence in the global defence industry by showcasing the latest products and advanced technologies developed by Emirati talents.”
This year’s exhibition theme, “Touch The Game Changing Technologies,” highlights the importance of focusing on technology, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and Artificial Intelligence, as well as their vital role in shaping our future. With this presence, the UAE underscores its strong competitive edge in global markets and its ability to keep pace with the rapid developments occurring today.
Al Jaber added: “Through the Council, we are enhancing communication and developing strategic partnerships to promote national companies in the defence sectors via a National Pavilion. This platform allows member companies to showcase their advanced products globally, especially in the growing European markets. Our ongoing efforts aim to serve national interests and strengthen defence capabilities, ensuring the UAE’s flag is raised high at all local, regional, and international forums.”
