Safran Electronics & Defense announced a significant agreement with the FinnishDefence Forces for the supply of advanced Geonyx Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) for theirArtillery systems.

The contract spans from 2024 to 2031, reflecting a long-term commitment toequipping Finland’s military forces with cutting-edge navigation and positioning technology.

The Geonyx INS, leveraging Safran’s HRG Crystal technology, is designed for precise navigation,targeting, and artillery pointing even in Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-denied environments. Its compact, shock-resistantdesign makes it ideal for integration into various military platforms, including vehicles, artillerysystems, and mobile radars.

This agreement will significantly enhance the Finnish Defence Forces' capabilities in operationalaccuracy and mission readiness, ensuring robust and resilient navigation solutions for complexand dynamic environments. The capabilities of the Geonyx will enable the Finnish Army to achievevery high precision pointing for its artillery systems (mortars, towed guns, self-propelled guns).
