Jordan, UK Discuss Expanding Military Training Cooperation

Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Huneiti, received on Monday at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), Major General Nick Cowley, Commandant of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance military and training cooperation between the Armed Forces of both countries, focusing on expertise exchange, joint training, and the development of training programs, including academic and knowledge-based courses.

Huneiti highlighted the depth of the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United Kingdom, commending Sandhurst’s role in preparing Jordanian military cadres. He noted that the college, recognized as one of the world’s most prestigious military institutions, has graduated many Jordanian officers who later assumed leadership roles within the JAF.

Cowley praised the development and modernization of the Jordan Armed Forces, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening military cooperation, particularly in specialized academic training and research programs.

The meeting was attended by Senior Officers from the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army and the British Defense Attaché in Amman, , Petra news agency reported.

In another development, Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Huneiti, also received on Monday the Assistant Chief of Staff for Armament and Equipment of the Kuwait Armed Forces, Brigadier General Sheikh Khalifa Duaij Al-Sabah, and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, Huneiti discussed enhancing cooperation and coordination in defense industries, reinforcing joint strategic military collaboration, and consolidating the strong bilateral relations guided by the leaderships of Jordan and Kuwait.

Al-Sabah commended the modernization and development efforts within the Jordan Armed Forces, emphasizing the importance of advancing the strategic partnership between the two militaries, particularly in armament and equipment sectors.

The meeting was attended by several senior officers from the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army, along with the Kuwaiti Military Attaché.
