EDGE, one of the world’s leading advanced technology and defence groups, signed a Memoradum of Understanding (MoU) with Brazilian company Condor, a global leader in non-lethal technologies, on the EDGE stand at the leading Latin American Defence and Security Exhibition, LAAD 2023 which concluded in Rio de Janeiro Friday.
Signed by Marcos Degaut, EDGE Brazil and Frederico Aguiar, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Condor, the strategic deal is designed to combine the companies’ capabilities, and assess the viability and feasibility of jointly identifying and implementing business opportunities across the UAE and Brazilian markets.
EDGE also signed a MoU with Brazilian company SIATT, which specialises in smart weapons and high-tech system integration. The MoU provides a framework for the companies to combine expertise and explore potential collaboration opportunities to enhance technologies and capabilities in the UAE and Brazilian markets.
Lastly, EDGE signed a third MoU with Kryptus, a Brazilian multinational provider of highly customisable, reliable and secure encryption, cybersecurity and cyber defence solutions. Under the terms of the MoU, EDGE and Kryptus will collaborate to enhance cyber capabilities and collectively pursue strategic opportunities in the advanced technology and defence markets.
Earlier last week, EDGE announced that it will open a new regional office in Brazil’s federal capital, Brasilia. The new office, which will be managed by a dedicated and experienced team of professionals from within the defence industry and local business ecosystems, is scheduled to open shortly.
EDGE participated for the first time at LAAD Defence & Security 2023 (LAAD), which took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 11 to 14 April. The biennial event is the largest and most important defence and security trade show in Latin America.
The group showcased its diverse product portfolio, with a clear focus on autonomous systems, smart weapons, and electronic warfare, highlighting the vast export potential of EDGE’s technologically advanced defence products and solutions to the Brazilian market, and others across the continent, and also for new commercial and security partnerships.
