Alyotech to Design Simulation Software for Maritime Radars
10.04.2013 Europe
The Alyotech Group has been chosen by the French Defense Procurement Agency DGA to develop a simulation software for maritime environment able to assess the performances of detection systems and recognition radars.
Having worked on a proof-of-concept validated by the DGA, Alyotech begins the development of the simulator named MOFREM, via a consortium gathering the ONERA (the DGA representative on the project), THALES SYSTEMES AEROPORTES, THALES AIR SYSTEMS (providers and guarantors for the radar data sets) and Alyotech (in charge of the physics modelization and the software development). 3D-based device, MOFREM is notable for its speed (almost real-time data rendering and processing) and its accuracy at representing the sea at different states.
The tool allows the dimensioning and qualification of maritime surveillance and observation systems using simulated data provided by radars.
Through this simulator, radarists will be able to test the performances of their fixed (coastal) and mobile radars (embedded on vessels, planes, drones or satellites) with simulated sea scenes as if they were under real conditions. This simulation approach can also complement the sea trials.
The system will also be used by the DGA and the French Navy to qualify surveillance radar systems by means of digital simulation for civil (illegal human and drug trafficking, Search & Rescue missions) and military issues (detection of threats...).
MOFREM, which first version is awaited by the end of 2013, is intended to further build on the simulation expertise of the Alyotech group (owner of the software intellectual property) and more specifically its proficiency in products design.
Specialized in engineering and information technologies consulting, Alyotech France’s activities are focused on Simulation / Electronics & Embedded Systems / Information Technology.
Alyotech France is present in business sectors such as Telecommunications, Aerospace, Defense, Energy & Environment, Bank & Insurance.
