The International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) announced its participation at the Defence and Security Equipment International Exhibition (DSEI).

Currently the largest global defence exhibition in the world, the four day event started on September 10th, 2013 in ExCel London, Europe's premier event facility owned by Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC).

Calling on a wealth of experience and having established itself as one of the world’s most reputable exhibitions, IDEX organises the UAE pavilion uniting fifteen defence firms from the UAE including Tawazun, Mubadala, Sofia Trading and Nation Shield. Providing strategic support on the ground to UAE companies during the four day exhibition, IDEX will help promote their products while facilitating business opportunities with the multi-national defence and security organisations present.

This year’s DSEI is expected to attract nearly 30,000 visitors and a range of the world’s largest defence companies. IDEX’s participation in the event falls in line with its extensive outreach program and global marketing strategy.

IDEX 2013, which took place in February, was the most successful edition in the two-decade history of the event, with 1,112 exhibiting companies from 59 countries and over 80,000 visitors. The Naval Defence Exhibition, (NAVDEX) was run alongside IDEX 2013 with 80 exhibitors. It doubled in size from the previous edition.

First held in 1993, IDEX (International Defence Exhibition & Conference) is the largest joint defence exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. IDEX takes place biennially under the patronage of HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and is organised by ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company) in association with the UAE Armed Forces GHQ.
