RUAG participated at last week’s ILA Berlin Air Show (Berlin, Germany; 20-25 May 2014) with some cutting-edge technology and presented its capabilities to an international audience of trade professionals.

Germany is an important market for international technology group RUAG, which has around 2,300 employees at five locations around the country committed to providing exceptional products and services.

Combining civil and military applications is one of the key factors in the international technology success of RUAG. Nowadays, the civil sector is acting more and more as a source of technological impetus, communication being one example. This is an advantage that RUAG, with its balance of civil and military applications, is in a good position to exploit, for example in its Simulation & Training and Cyber Security business areas.

At ILA Berlin, the focus was on RUAG's capabilities in the aerospace field. As the original manufacturer of the Dornier 228 (photo) in Germany, and as a partner to Airbus and Bombardier for the fuselage sections of various commercial aircraft, RUAG can consider the German market a key pillar of its business.

In the role of strategic partner, RUAG works closely with the German Bundeswehr and is responsible for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of its military aircraft as well as supplying it with standard and special small-caliber ammunition. RUAG's sphere of competence does not stop there, however, but also extends to the space sector where it is a leading European supplier and partner to the ESA.

”RUAG has a long and successful tradition of growth in Germany. Going forward, we would like to strengthen our presence and continue exploiting opportunities in all areas”, said CEO Urs Breitmeier.

In the last 14 years, RUAG has evolved into an international technology group with a strong presence in Germany, where we have around 2,300 employees in five different locations. Technical components produced by RUAG are deployed in a wide range of crucial areas on land, in the air and in space.
