Défense Conseil International (DCI), operator of the French Armed Forces know-how transfer, and its offices in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), have just got the renewal of their ISO 9001-2008 certification while the aeronautical department of DCI-DESCO has received the renewal of the EN 9100 certification valid for a three year period.

These two renewals cover activities related to “design, sale and execution of training, advice and support activities to the benefit of the French and foreign armed forces and of the defense industry”.

These renewals were conducted by AFNOR Certification, the French leader and one of the very first global certification organizations known for its ethics and experience.

Jean-Michel Palagos, DCI Chief Executive Officer, is proud of the AFNOR auditors' conclusions: “To meet the expectations of its customers, DCI is conducting a permanent policy of innovation and continuous improvement.”

To this end, the reference to ISO 9001 standards (and EN 9100 for its aeronautical activities) is an essential and structuring element of its action, in terms of requirements for its customers and partners: these standards represent the foundations upon which is built the DCI management system. It is upon these foundations of rigor, dynamism and motivation of the DCI teams that lays its ambition to make the French armed forces know-how grow and expand abroad,” he added.

DCI was created in 1972 to assist military equipment sales to foreign countries. Its main mission consisted of providing operational training courses based on the know-how of the French Armed Forces.

DCI is an upper medium size service provider in which the French government is the concurring shareholder. DCI now operates throughout the defense and security spectrum. Culturally close to the Ministry of Defense, DCI offers outsourcing services to foreign countries, for:

  • Consulting and assistance throughout the life cycle of armament programs
  • Training engineering in the academic, operational and technical fields

Lastly, DCI and its subsidiaries have been partners of the French Armed Forces for 10 years within the scope of service contracts and are endeavoring to extend their activities to European Union countries.
