Harris Wins Department of Homeland Security Contract

Harris Corporation, an international communications and information technology company, has been awarded a five-year, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract to provide commercial off-the-shelf equipment and services to support tactical communications for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and its partner agencies.
Harris was one of 22 large prime companies selected for this contract, which has a $3 billion ceiling and is required to be considered for the procurement of all tactical communications equipment and services.
Harris was one of 5 vendors selected to participate in all 5 technical categories offered, including but not limited to mobile radios, control/base stations, software, routers, repeaters, and test equipment, as well as engineering, design, installation and maintenance services.
The contract will be available for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and partner agencies, including the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of the Interior, and the White House Communications Agency.
“This contract will enable Harris to expand our presence within the Department of Homeland Security to support secure, interoperable, mission-critical public safety communications,” said Ted Hengst, President, Harris IT Services and Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Harris Corporation.
The Harris team includes subcontractors Alpha Technologies, CSC, Custom Tower, DTREDS LLC, International Towers, Inc., Ledcor CMI, Ltd., Mindbank, Strategic Business Systems, Inc., Strategic Resolution Experts, Inc., and Trans-Tel Central, Inc.
