Navistar Demos MaxxPro® Recovery Vehicle at CANSEC
30.05.2013 North America
Navistar Defence Canada, Inc. is demonstrating the proven state-of-the-art commercial towing and recovery technology of the MaxxPro® Recovery Vehicle (MRV) this week at CANSEC (Ottawa, Canada, 29-30 May 2013).
The MRV as well as a multimedia presentation of Navistar Defence’s Military Commercial off the Shelf (MILCOTS) armored cab solution are on display at Canada’s largest defence and security trade show.
The MRV combines mobility, power, survivability and recovery into one fully off-road capable vehicle. The vehicle features an auxiliary fuel tank for increased mission range, rear steps and grab handles to enhance the safety of recovery operations and the battle-proven MaxxPro Mine Resistant Ambush Protected survivability solution. The MRV also maneuvers in soft soil - attaining closer proximity to down vehicles.
“This vehicle offers unprecedented performance at minimal weight with excellent manoeuvrability and stability in on and off road terrain,” said Daniel Webster, Director of Military Programs, Navistar Defence Canada.
“The Navistar design maximizes the supportability and maintainability of these vehicles with a high degree of commonality of components with the Navistar MV-7000 chassis also found on our MILCOTS vehicles, which are already a part of the enduring fleet for the National Defence and Canadian Forces,” he added.
With more than 390 units fielded with the U.S. Military, the MRV pairs the MaxxPro vehicle with heavy duty commercially available recovery equipment - providing much needed capabilities on the battle ground.
“Navistar Defence offers speed, simplicity, agility and affordability by leveraging our commercial capacity and purchasing volume to offer a cost effective military towing and recovery solution. We recognize our customers matter most in this business - and we do everything in our power to keep them safe and stand behind our products,” Webster concluded.
