06.06.2013 North America
ITT Exelis has been awarded a U.S. Army contract to continue to provide information technology operations and maintenance support to the U.S. Army in Southwest and Central Asia.
The contract has a potential value of $788 million when all options are exercised.
The Operations, Maintenance and Defense of Army Communications in Southwest Asia and Central Asia (OMDAC-SWACA) contract, awarded by the U.S. Army Contracting Command, Fort Huachuca, Arizona, includes a phase-in period, a base period, two one-year options, and two one-year award terms.
Exelis has been the incumbent on this contract, formerly called the Total Army Communications - Southwest Asia, Central Asia and Africa (TAC-SWACAA) contract, since 2005.
“Providing a multitude of critical IT services to our nation’s warfighters is a vital discipline at Exelis,” said Ken Hunzeker, President of the Exelis Mission Systems division.
“This contract award allows us to continue a long-standing tradition of exceptional IT and related services support to our military customers. It’s a testament of customer confidence in Exelis performance and our position as a leader in managing and protecting critical networks around the world,” he added.
The contract calls for Exelis to provide IT operations and maintenance support for the Army’s Network Enterprise Technology Command. Identical support will be provided to the 160th Signal Brigade and its subordinate units in Southwest and Central Asia.
This work will be performed in multiple locations throughout the regions by the Exelis OMDAC-SWACA program management office based in Kuwait.
