MBDA France, OKTAL-SE Sign Partnership Agreement
11.06.2013 North America
MBDA France, part of MBDA Group, Europe’s leading missile manufacturer, and Oktal-SE, worldwide multispectral simulation software major player, are pleased to announce that they have materialized their fructuous collaborative work, started in 1991 with SCALP program, on synthetic image simulation.
Oktal-SE software solution (SE-Workbench ) is used by MBDA for developing infrared synthetic image generation system in use for many kind of simulation (study, performance, man in the loop, hardware in the loop) involved in many infrared missile sensor systems development.
The signed partnership agreement materializes more than 20 years of mutual complementary interest of both companies for developing and improving real-time and non real-time simulation solutions in various electromagnetic spectrum (infrared, visible, laser, radar) and associated modeling technics and tools (as for atmospheric, thermic and radiative computation and 3D database).
Both companies agree to jointly continue to work on the evolution and validation of SE-Workbench software products on present developments and pursue mutually cooperation opportunities.
With industrial facilities in five European countries and within the USA, in 2012 MBDA achieved a turnover of 3 billion Euros with an order book of 9.8 billion Euros. With more than 90 Armed Forces customers in the world, MBDA is a world leader in missiles and missile systems.
MBDA is the only group capable of designing and producing missiles and missile systems that correspond to the full range of current and future operational needs of the three armed forces (land, sea and air). In total, the group offers a range of 45 missile systems and countermeasures products already in operational service and more than 15 others currently in development.
MBDA is jointly held by BAE Systems (37.5%), EADS (37.5%) and Finmeccanica (25%).
