ATK celebrated the shipment of its 6,000th titanium propellant tank from its facility in Commerce, California. The milestone follows the 50th anniversary of the Commerce organization last October.

ATK has more than 550 propellant tank designs qualified for use in military, scientific and commercial satellites, space-launch vehicles and space-exploration vehicles.

“Our propellant tanks play a role on nearly every large U.S. launch vehicle and geosynchronous earth-orbit satellite,” said David Shanahan, Vice President and General Manager of ATK’s Space Components division.

“ATK’s affordable innovation and execution excellence enable us to offer highly engineered products to a wide range of customers,” he added.

ATK's tanks are both designed and manufactured at the company's facility in Commerce, which has been operating since 1963. For a half century, this facility has built a worldwide reputation as a leader in pressure vessel design and manufacture.

The organization supplies products to major space organizations in the United States, Asia (Japan, Korea, and India), Europe (UK, Italy, France, and Germany), and South America (Brazil and Argentina).

ATK is an aerospace, defense, and outdoor sports and recreation company with operations in 21 states, Puerto Rico, and internationally.
