JSC Rosoboronexport (a unit of the Rostec State Corporation) informed the public and associates about the inauguration of its new CEO Alexander Mikheev.

On January 10, 2017, during a meeting held at Rostec offices, Rostec CEO Sergei Chemezov officially introduced Alexander Mikheev as the new CEO of JSC Rosoboronexport to the Rostec and JSC Rosoboronexport leadership.

Earlier, on December 26, 2016, Rostec State Corporation, the sole shareholder of JSC Rosoboronexport, passed a resolution to appoint Alexander Mikheev CEO of JSC Rosoboronexport.

Alexander A. Mikheev was born on November 18, 1961 in Moscow. He graduated in aeronautical engineering from the Moscow Institute of Civil Aviation Engineering in 1985.

Mikheev obtained a master’s degree from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces in 2005.

He graduated from the Russian Government Financial Academy in 2006, with a degree in finance and credit. He holds a candidate degree in economics.

From 2001 to 2013, Alexander A. Mikheev served in various positions at JSC Rosoboronexport. Prior to his appointment to the position of Deputy CEO of Rosoboronexport (then a federal state unitary enterprise) in 2007, he was head of the company’s export department for special property and services for the Air Force.

In September 2013, he was appointed CEO of JSC Russian Helicopters. In January 2017, he became CEO of JSC Rosoboronexport.

Alexander A. Mikheev was awarded the Order of Honor, the Medal for Services to the Fatherland (2nd class), the Order of Alexander Nevsky, the Duslyk (Friendship) Order of the Republic of Tatarstan. He was also honored with a letter of commendation of the President of the Russian Federation.

He speaks fluent English and is married with one son.

Rosoboronexport is the only state-owned arms trade company in the Russian Federation authorized to export the full range of military and dual-purpose products, technologies and services. It is a subsidiary of the Rostec Corporation.

It is comprised of more than 700 organizations, whereof 9 holding companies presently operate in the military-industrial complex, 6 organizations are in civilian industries, and 32 are direct control organizations.

In 2015, Rostec’s consolidated revenues topped 1,140 billion rubles. The corporation's average wage in 2015 was 41,000 rubles, and tax payments to budgets of all levels exceeded 160 billion rubles. According to the new Rostec strategy, the main objective of the corporation is to provide Russia with a technological advantage on highly competitive global markets.
