Key actor of land defense, Nexter, a company of KNDS, fully participated at CANSEC 2018 which took place on May 30th and 31st in Ottawa (Canada). Always ready to meet the operational needs of the Canadian Forces, Nexter exhibited a range of its product and of its know-how.

Main French system integrator of wheeled armored vehicles (VBCI, TITUS®, ARAVIS®…) and artillery systems (CAESAR®, 105 LG1, shells…), the Nexter’s business scope includes the supply of systems, equipment and ammunition for armed forces.

In France, Nexter is at the heart of the SCORPION program, through the renovation of the LECLERC tank and the development of the future GRIFFON and JAGUAR vehicles within the GME (temporary business venture between Nexter, Arquus and Thales) as well as the VBMR Light.

In Canada, Nexter is equipping the Canadian Land Army with the 105LG1 lightweight towed gun (photo) which is particularly suitable for intervention and rapid reaction forces. It has been rolled out by the Canadian Army Reserve Force. Lightness, reliability and robustness are the major assets of this product of unequaled firepower, which can be towed by a light vehicle or transported by an average helicopter as well as parachuted from a tactical transport plane. With a firing rate of up to 12 rounds per minute, this “Combat Proven” gun can be integrated into any fire control system.

In the protection of the soldiers, Nexter is proving its know-how in robotics, illustrated by the extent of LG reconnaissance robot. The amplitude of its range of the capacity spectrum of its NERVAÒ payloads (manipulator arm, 3D scans, firing detection, CBRN detection) and mobility kits (caterpillars) enable the NERVA® family to perfectly meet the many missions that can be entrusted to them, such as detection of suspicious objects under vehicles, destruction of IEDs or site surveillance.

To combat CBRN threats effectively, and in the continuity of the supply of decontamination systems for the Canadian Army in 2014, Nexter presented NBC-Sys solutions, including a panoramic vision breathing system dedicated to personnel working in a contaminated atmosphere.

Nexter, the leading French land defense company and third European player in the ammunition sector is part of the KNDS Group. It is dedicated to meet the needs of the French land forces and of Nations on an international scale. The scope of its business includes the supply of weapon systems and ammunition for air and naval forces. Nexter also provides systems and protection solutions in the field of homeland security.

Nexter continues to apply its international development policy with 60% of the order intake in 2016 and 2017 intended for the export market. Nexter’s 2016 turnover amounted to €866 million, of which 19% is allocated to Research and Development activities.
