On 4th February 2020, Naval Group won the prestigious Aerospace and Defense Award for the “Best Foreign OEM supporting Make in India”. This award recognizes Naval Group’s commitment towards indigenization.
Naval Group India is one of select few foreign OEM subsidiaries established with the specific objective to support India’s vision towards greater indigenization for self-reliance in naval defense. Through its subsidiary, Naval Group has successfully created an eco-system of more than 50 local industrial partners out of which a majority are qualified MSMEs since 2008.
Naval Group has been a pillar of indigenization with the P75 program of Kalvari-class submarine made by Indian shipyard Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) through years of technology transfer and partnership with Naval Group. This fleet of submarine is state-of-art with exceptional stealth features.
Naval Group also announced at DEFEXPO India 2020 (5-9 February) the signature of important industrial alliances with Indian partners, thereby re-instating its commitment to indigenous content.
At DEFEXPO 2020, Naval Group reiterated its commitment to deepen sustainable cooperation with the Indian industry. Naval Group, with its robust track-record in terms of large and rich technology transfers worldwide, has been a pioneer in policy of Make in India and now gearing up for “make from India”.
With a presence of more than a decade in India, Naval Group has firmly supported the self- reliance of the Indian Navy for its naval programs.
