BAE Systems' Global Tactical Systems business, part of the largest land systems business in the world, said it was exploring areas for growth and the potential for industrial partnerships in the UAE.
Dennis Morris, President of BAE Systems' Global Tactical Systems, held discussions with top officials in this regard.

Addressing a media roundtable in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, Morris said BAE Systems' strategy of industrial collaboration had been extremely successful in the Middle East region, particularly in the UAE, 'where we are actively looking to further our partnerships with local companies'.
Simon Keith, Abu Dhabi-based Managing Director of BAE Systems' Global Tactical Systems (MEA and Asia Pacific) said, "Last year our ship building business, BAE Systems Surface Ships, set up a joint venture with Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding - Gulf Logistics and Naval Support - a first of its kind venture in the region that will provide a range of naval support services in the Gulf.'
'We hope to replicate this partnership across our land systems business and play a key role in providing advisory and technical support to develop local skills and expertise', he added.
BAE Systems' Land & Armaments operating group is the largest military land vehicle manufacturer in the world. A number of the group's South Africa MRAP vehicles both RG-31 and RG-12 are in service with the UAE armed forces.
