The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran unveiled its first pinpoint laser bomb system on Tuesday during a military drill staged by the Army's Ground Force in the west of the country.

In this exercise, for the first time, the Army’s Ground Force unveiled a laser bomb system with the capability of precision targeting, pinpointing, and high destruction power.

The system has the possibility of being used in all kinds of weather and geographical conditions, according to the Commander of the UAV unit of the Army Ground Force, Fars News Agency (FNA) reported.

Furthermore, the Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) has unveiled a heavy-duty drone, named Gaza, during a “hybrid operation” on the sidelines of a massive military exercise in southern Iran.

The unmanned aircraft, which has a range of 1,000 kilometers and can carry a payload of at least 500 kilograms, successfully took out eight mock enemy targets during the maneuver on Sunday, according to a press release by the IRGC.

With a wingspan of 22 meters and a takeoff weight of 3,100 kilograms, the drone boasts an impressive flight endurance of 35 hours and a cruising speed of 350 kilometers per hour, Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported.

The operational radius of the Gaza drone is estimated to be approximately 4,000 kilometers, and it can carry up to 13 missiles in a single flight.

Meanwhile, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri revealed his country’s full readiness to fight Electronic Warfare (EW).

In comments at the conclusion of the war game, he stressed that the Armed Forces are fit enough to defend the country and protect its security.

It is necessary to give the enemies the message that the Iranian Armed Forces are fully prepared to fight against them in electronic warfare, he added.

He further noted that the Iranian Army Ground Force units attending the recent exercise managed to take full advantage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotic sciences, which he said have seriously changed the contemporary battles.

According to him, the Army Forces carried out robotic operations in the drill and flew offensive and defensive micro air vehicles to detonate the targets.

General Bagheri said the defensive micro air vehicles at the Army’s disposal are one of the seven layers of defense capabilities of the Ground Force for repelling the enemy’s offense drones.
