‘Khalid bin Ali’ Frigate Joins Royal Bahrain Naval Force

Under the patronage of Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), the Kingdom of Bahrain’s ship, “RBNS Khalid Bin Ali”, arrived in Manama Friday.

Lieutenant-General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Noaimi, Minister of Defence Affairs, and Lieutenant-General Theyab bin Saqr Al Noaimi, Chief of Staff of the BDF, attended the ceremony during which the vessel docked at the Royal Bahrain Naval Force (RBNF)’s Salman Naval Base.

The Commander-in-Chief was briefed by Rear Admiral Mohammed Ibrahim Al Binali, Commander of the RBNF, about the frigate, RBNS Khalid bin Ali, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

He conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister to the project officer, ship captain and assistant captain.

Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed congratulated the ship’s national crew for their efficiency and ability during their journey home. He also conferred on them the Command Proficiency Medal.

The BDF Chief affirmed that the arrival of the new vessel is in line with the support of HM the King, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the RBNF in order to enable it to carry out its sacred patriotic duties of protecting the kingdom’s gains and coasts, as well as territorial waters and economic zones to the fullest.

“RBNS Khalid Bin Ali” will also contribute to enhancing operational and developmental integration with other BDF branches, and security authorities in supporting the national projects launched during HM the King’s prosperous era, he added.

The Commander-in-Chief expressed pride in the prominent role played by the RBNF’s brave personnel, praising their dedication to carrying out their duty in securing Bahrain’s territorial and economic waters and participating in efforts to address threats to maritime navigation in the region.
