General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, met General Robert Brieger, Chairman of the European Union Military Committee, and his accompanying delegation, during an official visit that lasted for several days, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense General Secretariat.
The meeting covered the developments of the regional and international arenas in the current period and the exerted efforts to achieve security and stability in the region, as well as ways to strengthen relations in the fields of security and defense, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces affirmed his appreciation for the relations of friendship and military cooperation with the European Union Military Committee. He also pointed to the consensus of visions on issues and topics of common interest, which contributes to supporting the pillars of security and stability in the region.
The Chairman of the European Union Military Committee pointed out the importance of enhancing prospects for cooperation and exchanging experiences in the fields of security and defense. He also praised Egypt's efforts to participate in addressing the issues and problems raised on the regional and international arenas, given that it represents a major and active force in the Middle East.
The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and a number of commanders of the Armed Forces.
