Boeing partnered with the Iraqi Ministry of Transportation (Iraqi Airways) and U.S.-based non-profit organization Another Joy Foundation to transport a consignment of toys on board the airline's newly delivered Next-Generation 737-800.

The shipment is part of Boeing’s Humanitarian Delivery Flights program and includes boxes of dolls, toy cars and trucks that Another Joy Foundation will distribute to underprivileged children in Iraqi orphanages.

“Boeing, through its Global Corporate Citizenship organization, supports relief efforts around the world in partnership with airline customers and non governmental agencies such as Another Joy Foundation,” said Elizabeth Warman, Director of Boeing Global Corporate Citizenship for the Northwest region.

“These collaborative efforts bring relief and hope to people in need. With this consignment of toys, we look forward to bringing some happiness to orphans in Iraq,” she added.

"We are extremely happy to participate in this relief effort that is part of our celebration of adding another Boeing airplane to the airline's fleet. Such joint initiatives with Boeing and non-profit organizations will enable us to help those in need in the future as well,” said Bangen Rekani, Iraq's Deputy Minister of Transportation.

Headquartered in Las Vegas, Another Joy Foundation's mission is to deliver joy and hope to less fortunate children around the world through donations of new and used toys, clothes, shoes and new school supplies.

Since Boeing's Humanitarian Delivery Flight program began in 1992, the company has facilitated more than 163 humanitarian delivery flights, working in partnership with over 50 different airlines worldwide.

This delivery to Iraqi Airways marked the third of the 30 Next-Generation 737-800s that were ordered by the airline in 2008.
