23 Countries to Participate at “Eager Lion” Drills in Jordan

Forces from 23 countries, including Jordan and the US, will hold military drills in Jordan aimed at exchanging expertise and improving operations' coordination among participating troops, the Jordanian Armed Forces said.

It added in a statement that “Eager Lion” exercises, due between May 25 and June 10, would bring together 13,000 forces. The drills will be co-organized by Jordanian and American Forces.

The drills will feature ground, air and naval forces, as well as thousands of civilians working in crisis management and security authorities, it said.

The training aims at boosting capabilities in fight against terrorism, evacuation, psychological operations, strategic communications, future planning, search and rescue, protection of vital facilities, fighting cyber-terrorism and logistic support.

Countries participating in the drills are Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, the UAE, Lebanon, Turkey, Britain, France, Italy, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, the US, Brunei, Canada, Belgium, Poland, Australia, NATO and Jordan.
