Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, UAE Minister of State for Defense Affairs, attended Tuesday the opening of the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX 2018), in Jordan, which will run until 10th May, UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation reported.
Also present were Matar Saif Slaiman Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Amman, senior armed forces officers and officials from the Ministry and from the Embassy.
Al Bowardi toured the exhibition’s various pavilions and stands (photo) and was briefed on the latest special and homeland security technologies on display.
On SOFEX sidelines, Al Bowardi met with Dr. Hani Al-Mulki, Jordanian Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, in presence of several Ministers and senior officials.
They discussed issues of mutual interest as well as ways to enhance defense and military cooperation.
For his part, Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief-of-Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, also attended Tuesday the opening SOFEX 2018, UAE national news agency WAM reported.
Al Rumaithi toured the exhibition’s various pavilions and stands and was briefed on the latest special and homeland security technologies on display.
SOFEX 2018 is being attended by more than 350 companies from 35 countries. It is also attended by 99 official delegations from 53 countries.
