Chairman of the Jordan’s Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Huneiti (photo) and his Italian counterpart held talks in Amman on military cooperation in Amman Thursday.
Huneiti discussed with the Italian Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragonewith, and an accompanying delegation the future of military cooperation and regional and international developments, Petra news agency reported.
“The Jordanian-Italian relations constitute a model to be followed in facing various challenges and difficulties. Cooperation continues with the Italian Armed Forces in all military fields by employing mutual expertise and capabilities,” Huneiti said.
In turn, Dragonewith noted the depth of relations between Jordan and Italy, praising Jordan's “pivotal” role in combating terrorism and extremism and consolidating regional security and stability.
General Huneiti also received Thursday Turkish Ambassador to Jordan Erdem Ozan.
During the meeting, Huneiti and Ozan discussed cooperation and coordination in military, operational, training and logistical areas.
