Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff of Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), and Major-General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Jordanian Armed Forces, co-chaired the 20th meeting of the joint Bahraini-Jordanian Higher Committee, held on November 8-9 in Jordan.

Al Nuaimi commended the efforts exerted to develop relations and affirmed the joint keenness to expand cooperation in various fields, especially in the military field, in implementation of the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, King of Jordan.

The meeting reviewed many topics and projects between the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) and the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) that would strengthen bilateral military cooperation, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

The minutes of the 20th joint Bahraini-Jordanian Higher Committee meeting were signed at the end of the meeting.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, Huneiti stressed the “deep-rooted” relations between JAF and BDF, and the “unified and consistent” positions towards regional and international issues.

Hneiti said such meetings affirm the “strategic, brotherly” Jordanian-Bahraini relations and aim to strengthen joint cooperation in all fields, Petra news agency reported.

For his part, Lt. General Al Nuaimi stressed BDF’s keenness to bolster the two armies’ “distinguished” relations and exchange views on multiple common military issues, expressing pride in the honorable Jordanian positions towards regional issues.

At the end of the visit, Lt. General Al Nuaimi wrote a word in the guest book.
