Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Huneiti, received Monday a Malaysian delegation, led by Chief of Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Mohammad bin Ab Rahman and discussed prospects of cooperation and coordination in military fields.
They also talked about regional and international developments that impact the interests of the armed forces on both countries.
Huneiti outlined future plans to enhance joint cooperation through agreements, military exercises and courses to develop defense systems and boost capabilities, Petra news agency reported.
Rahman highlighted his country’s strong ties with Jordan, commending the Kingdom’s key role in combating terrorism and extremism, and its efforts to bring about regional security and stability.
They also went over presentations on the modernization and development of the Jordan Armed Forces, aligning with the nature of regional developments.
In another development, the videos circulating on social media in the Gulf of Aqaba were part of the exercises conducted by the Naval Force and Royal Boats Command in preparation for the Special Operations Equipment Exhibition and Conference SOFEX 2024.
A military official of the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces said the scenario of the naval exercise, which will be implemented in September, includes interception operations and explosions inside the sea within Jordanian territorial waters, warning against misleading news.
