Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of National Guard, received in Riyadh on Sunday evening Chairman of US Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Martin Dempsey and the accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, they exchanged cordial talks and discussed issues of common interest.
Earlier last week, His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, discussed with General Martin Dempsey in Abu Dhabi ways of strengthening bilateral ties between the UAE and US on Wednesday 28 May 2014.
Sheikh Mohamed and the visiting US Commander reviewed a broad range of topics dealing with enhancement of joint military and defense cooperation and coordination as well as exchange of expertise and training. Also raised in the meeting were a variety of issues of mutual concern.
Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority (EAA), Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the US, and Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouie, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, attended the meeting.
Attending the meeting from the US were Andrew W. Steinfeld, Foreign Policy Advisor to the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs-of-Staff, Michael Corbin, US Ambassador to the UAE, and a number of advisors to General Dempsey.
