Joint Gulf Naval Exercise Starts in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Border Guards is participating in the joint Gulf naval exercise “Peace Gulf 6” that was launched Sunday in the Arabian Gulf with the coast guards of Bahrain and Kuwait, and the support of Saudi Security Aviation.

The exercise is held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, from September 17 to 20 and aims to enhance maritime security and safety, through a number of scenarios, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

This comes as part of the annual training for border and coast guards in the GCC states to support and enhance cooperation and relations, prepare and refine naval staff, acquire technical experience, and develop skills in naval security in search and rescue operations by carrying out joint exercises.

Bahrain’s Coast Guard Commander, Brigadier Alaa Siyadi expressed thanks and appreciation to the Interior Minister for his directives to enhance maritime security among GCC countries.

He said that the exercise is an opportunity to gain skills and expertise and carry out joint operations.
