The Chief of General Staff of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Lieutenant-General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili received Wednesday, at the headquarters of the General Staff in Riyadh, the Commander of the U.S. Central Naval Forces Command Lieutenant General Charles Cooper, currently on a visit to the Kingdom.
During the meeting, a number of issues of common interest and cooperation between the Saudi and U.S. naval forces were discussed to ensure the security and stability of the region, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The meeting was attended by the Commander of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces Lieutenant General Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Ghufaili and a number of senior officers from both sides.
In another development, Bahrain’s Coastguard Commander, Brigadier Jassim Mohammed Al Ghatam, received in Manama Commander of the Combined Taskforce (CTF 152), Colonel Saif Abdulhadi Al-Hamlan and his accompanying delegation, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
The Coastguard Commander welcomed the officials and discussed with them coordination regarding issues of common concern in the fields of maritime security, training and building capabilities. Topics of common interest were also reviewed.
