Lebanese Army Chief Receives Commander of United Nations Interim Force

The Lebanese Army Commander in Chief General Joseph Aoun received in his office at Yarzeh on Monday the Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, Major General Aroldo Lázaro (photo). They discussed the cooperation relations between the UNIFIL and the Lebanese Army.

General Aoun also received the Lebanese Air Rifle Shooting team which participated in the World Championship in the Czech Republic, the Lebanese Army said in a statement. He congratulated its members after shooter Fadi Kiwan won the first place individually, while the team achieved the second place globally in the team category.

General Aoun then received the President of the Lebanese Basketball Federation, Mr. Akram Al-Halabi, along with a delegation from the Federation and a team of former Lebanese basketball stars who participated in the match with the Lebanese Army team on the occasion of the seventy-eighth anniversary of the army.

Earlier, the Lebanese Army Commander in Chief General Joseph Aoun received in his office, on 10 August 2023, the Air Force Commander for U.S. Central Command Lt General Alexus G. Grynkewich in the presence of the US Ambassador to Lebanon, Ms. Dorothy Shea, and they discussed the cooperation relations between the armies of both countries.
