Kuwait’s Chief of General Staff Visits Oman

Lt. General Khaled Saleh Al Sabah, Chief of the General Staff of Army of the State of Kuwait arrived in Muscat Sunday on an official two-day visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

The guest and his accompanying delegation were received upon their arrival at A’Seeb Air Base by Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Ra’eesi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), senior SAF officers and the Military Attaché at the Kuwait’s Embassy in Muscat, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

The two sides exchanged views on a range of military matters that serve the armed forces of the two countries. They also discussed several matters of common interest.

On Monday, General Sultan Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office received in his office the visiting Chief of the General Staff of Army in the State of Kuwait.

The two sides reviewed fields of the joint cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Kuwait. They also exchanged conversations on topics of common interest.

The meeting was attended by Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Ra’eesi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and the delegation accompanying the guest.

For his part, HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs also received in his office at Al Murtafa’a Garrison in Muscat Monday Lt. General Khaled Saleh Al Sabah, Chief of the General Staff of Army of the State of Kuwait.

The two sides exchanged views and discussed several matters of common interest.

Furthermore, the Chief of the General Staff of Army of the State of Kuwaiti visited the Maritime Security Center (MSC) Monday.

During the visit, the Kuwaiti military official was accompanied by Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Ra’eesi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF).

Upon his arrival at the MSC, he was greeted by Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO).

The Kuwaiti guest and members of the visiting delegation were briefed on the roles and tasks carried out by the Centre in maintaining safety of the maritime environment. They also toured the Centre’s facilities and viewed its latest equipment and technologies used in carrying out its national duties.

Last week, Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) received in his office at Al Murtafa’a Garrison Admiral Kim Jung-soo, Chief of Naval Operations of the Republic of Korea.

The two sides reviewed areas of maritime cooperation between the two navies and exchanged views on several matters of common interest.

The Chief of Naval Operations of the Republic of Korea also visited he Maritime Security Centre (MSC) in Muscat.

During the visit, he was accompanied by Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO).

Upon their arrival, they were received by the Deputy Head of the MSC.

The Korean guest and members of the visiting delegation were briefed on the roles and tasks carried out by the centre in maintaining the safety of the maritime environment. They also toured the centre’s facilities and viewed its latest equipment and technologies that are used in carrying out its national duties.
