Egyptian Navy Commander Visits Sultanate of Oman

The two sides discussed a spectrum of topics in a bid to enhance the military relations between the RNO and the Egyptian Navy. They also exchanged views on various naval matters of mutual interest, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

The meeting was attended by Commodore Tarik Issa Al Raisi, Senior RNO Staff Officer and Commodore Jasim Mohammed Al Balushi, Director of Operations and Plans at the RNO. It was also attended by the Defence Attaché of the Egyptian Embassy at Muscat.

For his part, Major General Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) also received in his office the visiting Commander of the Egyptian Navy. The two sides exchanged views and discussed several military matters of mutual interest.

Earlier, Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Za’abi, Secretary General at Oman’s Ministry of Defence received Vice Admiral Ashraf Ibrahim Atwa, Commander of the Egyptian Navy. The two sides reviewed the bilateral relations between Oman and Egypt. They also exchanged views on various matters of mutual interest.

Both meetings were attended by Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), and the Defence Attaché of the Egyptian Embassy at Muscat.

Meanwhile, General Sultan Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office welcomed the Commander of the Egyptian Navy who expressed his thanks to the Sultanate of Oman for enhancing means of cooperation between the two countries. He also expressed his appreciation for Oman’s balanced constant political stance in international relations.

The two sides reviewed several matters of mutual interest. They also touched on regional and international issues of common interest

The meeting was attended by Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO).

Furthermore, Vice Admiral Ashraf Ibrahim Atwa, Commander of the Egyptian Navy, his accompanying delegation and the Defence Attaché of the Egyptian Embassy at Muscat visited the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) Museum at Bait Al Falaj Fort.

The Director of the Museum accompanied the guests during their tour in various sections of the museum. They viewed the historic manuscripts and models. The guests were also briefed on the march of SAF’s development.

At the conclusion of the visit, the guest signed the visitor's book, expressing his delight in viewing the rich military heritage of Oman, as well as its aspects of progress and growth.

Lastly, the Commander of the Egyptian Navy, along with the military delegation accompanying him and the Defence Attaché of the Egyptian Embassy at Muscat, visited the Maritime Security Centre (MSC).

The guests were accompanied during the visit by Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO).

Upon their arrival, the guests were greeted by Commodore Adil Hamoud Al Busaidi, Head of the MSC.

During the visit, the guests toured the Centre’s facilities and viewed its latest equipment and technologies used in carrying out its national duties. They were also briefed on the tactical roles and tasks carried out by the Centre in the safety of the maritime environment.
