Oman, UK Sign Additional Annex for Joint Defence Agreement

An additional annex for the joint defence agreement between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom was signed at the Ministry of Defence in Muscat Monday.

Signing the annex came within the framework of the Omani military relations with different countries in various military fields particularly training areas, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

The additional annex was signed from the Omani side by Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Za’abi, Secretary General at the Ministry of Defence whilst it was signed from the British side by James Goldman, Chargé d’Affaires of UK Embassy in Muscat.

In another development, Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) received in his office at Al Murtafa’a Garrison Monday Commodore Mohammed Dasmal Al Kuwari, Head of the Qatari delegation of the Office of Water Sciences.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views and discussed several matters of mutual interest. They also touched on enhancing mutual cooperation. The meeting was attended by several senior RNO Officers.

Meanwhile, Major General Hamid Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies (ASDS), received in his office at Bait Al Falaj Garrison a delegation of the Royal Jordanian Command and Staff College (RJCSC) led by Brigadier Ali Abdulqadir Abdulhafidh Al Matar.

The two sides exchanged views on a range of joint academic and training topics.

The meeting was attended by Air Commodore Ahmed Mohammed Al Meshaikhi, Commandant of the Joint Command and Staff College at the ASDS.
