Major General Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), held a meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday with General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the General Staff of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, within the context of his official visit to Pakistan.
RAO Commander also met Lt. General Ahsan Gulrez, Assistant Chief of Staff of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The two meetings discussed military topics of common interest, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
In another development, crew members of vessels taking part in the Gulf Naval Exercise (Union 2023) visited Oman National Hydrographic Office (ONHO) on Wednesday.
The teams listened to a briefing about the office, followed by a visual display featuring key roles and tasks undertaken by the ONHO.
ONHO is the department tasked with issuing maritime scripts in electronic and paper forms, maps and publications on all Omani marine areas and water bodies. Its duties also include the conservation of the national hydrographic archive.
ONHO lends support to missions aimed at extending boundaries of Oman’s continental shelf.
