Activities of the annual symposium of strategic issues titled “Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability of Development” began Sunday in the National Defence College at the Academy of Strategic and Defence Studies in Sultanate of Oman.
The event was held under the auspices of Major General Abdullah Ali Al Harthy, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Operations.
The symposium includes a set of themes, most importantly the national challenges and artificial intelligence, and international experiences in utilizing Artificial Intelligence.
It also reviews the importance of investing in artificial intelligence technologies and ways to apply them in the fields of security, health, economics, and education in a manner that enhances the quality of life, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
It is worth noting that the annual symposium on strategic issues comes within the curriculum of the 11th national defence course, which runs till 22 February.
A number of government units in Oman and some academics and specialists from Arab and foreign countries are taking part in the symposium.
