The Military Technological College (MTC) of Oman celebrated Wednesday the opening of a number of technical laboratories.

The ceremony was held under the auspices of Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Military Technological College.

The event was in pursuance of the ongoing modernization and development of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF) during the prosperous reign of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander. It formed part of efforts to upgrade the College’s educational system.

The chief guest listened to a briefing about the stages of establishment of technical laboratories at the College, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

The project, which goes in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, aims to add new academic disciplines in the fields of environment-friendly energy, Artificial Intelligence (AI) the Internet of Things and cybersecurity.

The Military Technological College (MTC) was established by royal directives of His late Sultan Qaboos bin Said. The College’s fundamental aim is to consolidate technical and vocational education within a unified institution. The College serves as a key source of skilled and trained technical personnel for the Ministry of Defence, the Sultan’s Armed Forces of Oman, and various military and security agencies across the Sultanate of Oman.

In this era of the renewed renaissance, under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, the Supreme Commander, the College continues its journey of development and modernisation. The College receives the highest level of attention and unwavering support in order to further strengthen its educational and research capabilities.

The College’s mission is to deliver excellence in academic and technical education and training by providing specialised, vocational, and professional accredited programmes to military and security services, and the community.

The Military Technological College aims to be internationally positioned amongst military research-active academic institutions delivering academic technological education as a trusted provider of professionals.
