Qatar's Minister of State for Defense Affairs Major General Hamad bin Ali Al-Attiyah met in Washington on Friday with US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter (photo).

Discussions during the meeting dealt with issues of mutual interest, particularly in military domains, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

Major General Hamad bin Ali Al-Attiyah also met on Thursday with Senator Bob Crocker, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the US Senate and in the presence of members of the Special Committee on Foreign Relations of the Armed Forces Senate.

During both meetings, they discussed issues of mutual interest, particularly in military spheres.

All three meetings were attended by Qatar's Ambassador to US Mohammed Jaham Kuwari and the delegation accompanying the Minister of State for Defense.
