Kuwait Armed Forces Deputy Chief-of-Staff, General Sheikh Abdullah Nawaf Al-Sabah, underlined Monday the importance of participation in international military conferences and exhibitions, to get acquainted with state-of-art weapons and military equipment.
Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the sidelines of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2018), Sheikh Abdullah said he was pleased to have witnessed first-hand latest military industries.
He said DIMDEX was an excellent opportunity to exchange expertise among participants, and to get acquainted with state-of-art defense equipment and technologies.
The Ministry of Defense of Kuwait, said Sheikh Abdullah, was keen on acquiring latest military systems coupled with development of servicemen.
Held under the patronage and vision of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and hosted and organised by Qatar Armed Forces, the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition & Conference, DIMDEX, has grown to become a leading event in the global maritime defence and security industry calendar.
Now in its sixth edition, this prestigious event is renowned to be a dynamic gateway to industry insights, solutions and procurement opportunities, for maritime and defence leaders from around the world.
DIMDEX 2018 is currently taking place from 12-14 March at the Qatar National Convention Centre.
DIMDEX features 180 exhibitors representing over 30 countries. Up to 80 senior military officers from more than 60 nations are attending the event.
